Psychoanalyst, the craftsman of words

a reflection from three conceptions of time

Abstract

The present article aims at establishing approximations with the psychoanalyst’s and the goldsmith craftsman’s process in relation to the ways of experiencing time, their respective formations and activities. Time was the guiding axis of the work; we used three conceptions of time: serial time, friendly time and leaping time. Then, we articulate these ways of experiencing time with the timespan of the psychoanalyses and the formation of the psychoanalyst as well as the goldsmith craftman’s. At the end of the article, we make some reflections about the relevance of the experience of leaping time in important moments for both activities, of the goldsmith artisan in moments of creativity and inventiveness and of the psychoanalyst in conducting his/her analyses, in his/her formation and in the process of personal analysis.
