Vicissitudes of the Psychoanalytic Meeting
or The fright with the present moment
Abstract
The work of psychoanalysis is presented as having the psychoanalytic encounter and its vicissitudes as being its condition, its object, and its instrument. The theories of psychoanalysis came from the actuality of the encounter and its vicissitudes and referred to them, even when they are intended to be very abstract and ‘historical’. In the psychoanalytic meetings are privileged the scare, the turbulences and the automatic responses to it in the form of stereotyped and repetitive reactions of transference and countertransference.
